Funding Guidelines

The Board of Trustees makes every effort to address the increasing number of funding requests received. In order to utilize the Trust’s financial resources wisely, the following restrictions have been established:

  1. Applicant organizations must be classified as 501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service.
  2. Applicant organizations must be located and operated within the State of Colorado for the benefit of Colorado residents.
  3. Institutions or organizations supported by tax-derived monies, including those which have lost governmental funding, will not be considered.
  4. The Trust will consider only one request from an organization during any calendar year.

The Trust must limit its grantmaking and among other things will not consider:

  • New programs in their first three years of operation
  • Grants or loans to individuals
  • Developmental, pass-through or start-up funds
  • Research projects
  • Publications, films or other media projects
